WRS Certification satisfies the requirement of a supervised field experience or practicum in reading. It can be applied to Reading Endorsements for grades K\u20138, 6\u201312, and K\u201312.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">California: Meets California Social Content Review<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Fundations<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, Just Words<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, the Wilson Reading System<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, and Wilson Fluency<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>\/Basic have been approved by the California State Board of Education as meeting the state\u2019s social content standards.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cde.ca.gov\/ci\/cr\/cf\/lc.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read more here<\/a>. This means the materials contained in each of Wilson\u2019s programs:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Portray accurately and equitably the cultural and racial diversity of American society.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Demonstrate the contribution of minority groups and males and females to the development of California and the United States.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Depict people in varied, positive, and contributing roles to enrich students\u2019 school experiences.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid inappropriate references to commercial brand names, products, and corporate or company logos.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Colorado: Approved Supplemental and Intervention Programs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The READ Act requires the Colorado Department of Education to identify quality reading instructional programs for optional use by local education agencies. Following the review process, the Wilson Reading System<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>&nbsp;was approved as an Intervention Program and Fundations<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>&nbsp;was approved as a Supplemental and Intervention Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Illinois State Board of Education: Approved Evidence-Based Intervention<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Wilson Reading System has been added to the Illinois State Board of Education list of approved evidence-based intervention curricula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Illinois State Board of Education: Qualified Professionals Specializing in Structured Literacy Intervention<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Illinois State Board of Education identified Wilson Language Training as an organization offering structured literacy intervention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Indiana: Approved Dyslexia Training Programs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) has identified a set of high-quality programs that will prepare educators to become \u201cauthorized reading specialists trained in dyslexia.\u201d The IDOE recognizes Wilson Reading System<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>&nbsp;Level I Certification on its list of approved dyslexia training programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Louisiana: Regulations and Guidelines for the Education of Students with Dyslexia<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Wilson Reading System<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>&nbsp;(WRS) is one of six multisensory structured language programs identified as an effective program in the remediation of dyslexia in the state\u2019s Regulations and Guidelines for Implementation of the&nbsp;<em>Louisiana Law for the Education of Dyslexic Students<\/em>.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.doa.la.gov\/media\/lptcr4d2\/28v35.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read more here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Maryland: Maryland Leads Partner Program&nbsp;<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Wilson Language Training is approved as a Maryland Leads Partner in the Science of Reading Category for Fundations<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, Just Words<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>, and Wilson Reading System<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>&nbsp;materials and professional learning. It provides information about screening and detecting young children who display associated risk factors and will assist in the implementation of age-appropriate, evidence-based intervention strategies to strengthen reading skills. Wilson Reading System<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>&nbsp;is listed in&nbsp;<em>Section 5-Interventions<\/em>&nbsp;as an evidence-based intervention.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.education.nh.gov\/who-we-are\/division-of-learner-support\/bureau-of-instructional-support\/screening-and-intervention-dyslexia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read more here<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New Mexico: Structured Literacy Instructional Materials and Professional Learning Adoption<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Fundations, Just Words, and WRS have been added to the New Mexico Public Education Department\u2019s lists of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/view.officeapps.live.com\/op\/view.aspx?src=https%3A%2F%2Fwebnew.ped.state.nm.us%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2023%2F07%2FMultiple-List_Rvsd_7.25.23.xlsx&amp;wdOrigin=BROWSELINK\">structured literacy programs<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/webnew.ped.state.nm.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/HQIM-PL-Marketplace-List.pdf\">structured literacy professional learning<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">North Carolina: State Improvement Project<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of the North Carolina State Improvement Project is to establish program support services to significantly improve the performance and success of students with disabilities in North Carolina. The Wilson Reading System<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>&nbsp;is one of the reading programs identified for implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ohio: Approved Evidence-Based Reading Intervention Program<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ohio Department of Education has added Wilson Reading System to their list of approved Evidence-Based Reading Intervention Programs. For more information, refer to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/education.ohio.gov\/Topics\/Learning-in-Ohio\/English-Language-Art\/Resources-for-English-Language-Arts\/High-Quality-Instructional-Materials-in-English-La\/Approved-List-of-Evidence-Based-Reading-Interventi\">this page<\/a>&nbsp;of the Ohio Department of Education site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ohio: Approved List of Teacher Professional Development in Research-Based Reading Instruction<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>WRS Level I Certification and Level II Certification are accredited by the International Dyslexia Association (both listed as Accreditation Plus). They are, therefore, approved to meet the professional development requirements of the Dyslexia Support Laws. Programs with Accreditation and Accreditation Plus status are recognized. The Ohio Dyslexia Committee has included Wilson Reading System (Level I and Level II Certification) on their <a href=\"https:\/\/education.ohio.gov\/getattachment\/Topics\/Learning-in-Ohio\/Literacy\/Dyslexia\/Professional-Development-and-Certification\/Appropriate-Certification-pathways.pdf.aspx?lang=en-US\">list of approved programs for Structured Literacy Certification<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Oklahoma State Board of Education: Qualified Supplier of Scientifically-Research-Based and Evidence-Based Instructional Program<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Wilson Reading System has been approved by the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) as a qualified supplier of a scientifically-research-based and evidence-based instructional program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Texas: Phonics Grant\/Texas Regional Education Service Centers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Wilson Reading System<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>&nbsp;and Fundations<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>&nbsp;are approved reading programs a school may select to support and enhance the implementation of the state Teacher Reading Academies for Grades K\u20133.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Texas: The Dyslexia Handbook<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Texas Education Agency\u2019s (TEA)&nbsp;<em>The Dyslexia Handbook\u20142018 Update: Procedures Concerning Dyslexia and Related Disorders<\/em>&nbsp;identifies the providers of dyslexia instruction that are prepared to use the techniques, tools, and strategies outlined in the Handbook, and can serve as trainers and consultants in dyslexia and related disorders for regular, remedial, and special education teachers in the state.
