Overview

Fundations Practice Books give students opportunities to build on skills beyond the 30-minute daily lesson, in small groups, centers, or by working independently.

Students identify word patterns and manipulate sounds to practice phonemic awareness, encoding, and decoding.

Students apply skills to connected text to transition from accuracy to automatic word recognition.

Students think actively about their reading and self-monitor, forming a visual image and imagining a scene. 

End of Unit activities let students practice reading phrases to build automaticity and prosody. (Levels 1-3)

Activities give opportunities to practice automatic recognition of new and review Trick Words. (Levels K, 1, 2)
